Robert Ensor
Robert Ensor started his professional career making one of a kind furniture pieces for art galleries in Taos, Santa Fe and abroad. His first admirer was none other than the late comedian George Carlin. George Carlin went from gallery to gallery and bought up all of Robert's work.
Everything I make is reclaimed from old dumpsites whenever I run into them along the way, including the wood I make my furniture from. Everything has a story..... I give them the chance to shine and reinvent themselves as I do with people. Everyone deserves a second chance, myself included. I love the patina of rust and how the natural deterioration brings out the personality of the piece, making it a one of a kind marvel that is pleasing to the eye.
I never know whats going to come out of a piece of cast away material until it reveals itself to me and I can see the true nature of where it wants to go.
My art is whimsical, tongue and cheek but always with a deeper meaning that allows anyone to decide what the art says to them personally.
