I’m a retired teacher. I paint not as a profession, and not as a hobby. It is fulfillment of a promise I made to myself long ago, that in my retirement from the classroom, I would devote my time and energy in a search to further develop my craft, to live up to a degree awarded me years ago, that of “master painter”. That hasn’t happened yet, but therein lies the mystery, the lure, the incremental discovery congruent to the search and the motivation to continue.
